Let Katy show you the many luxury real estate opportunities available in Bay Village, Ohio.

ABOUT BAY VILLAGE, OH

Bay Village is located only 15 miles west of Cleveland in Cuyahoga County via I-90. It lies on the comely southern shores of spectacular Lake Erie, making it one of the premier destinations for luxury waterfront homes in the Buckeye State.

Covering less than five square miles of land area, Bay Village is a small, compact, and predominantly residential city. It’s also well-situated in the Cleveland metropolitan area, making travel to other major cities– Akron, Columbus, and Pittsburg– easy and achievable within three hours or less.

Bay Village’s story started when Joseph Cahoon settled in the area in 1810. Then a budding real estate investor, Cahoon built the location’s first gristmill in 1813. His descendants built a family barn in 1882. Today, this structure serves as Bay Village’s community center.

Even before the 21st century, Bay Village was already known as an affluent community. After the Civil War, some of Cleveland’s wealthiest families built summer cottages on the beaches of Lake Erie. The township’s economy grew significantly, and the locals eventually decided to apply for cityhood. Bay Village, which had a population of nearly 7,000 residents at the time, eventually became a city on the first day of 1950. Today, the community is home to over 16,000 people.

    • The Bay Diner at Dover Commons is much revered in Bay Village– eating here is a local tradition.
